Popularly known as the holy city of India, 'Haridwar' is is the gateway to the four pilgrimages of Uttaranchal - Yamunotri, Gangotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath. As you enter Haridwar you will find great statue of Lord Shiva at the fork of the Ganga Ghats. You will find thousand of pilgrims taking a holy dip in the river Ganga and performing rituals. All around the river ghats are the numerous ancient temples - Maya Devi Temple, Mansa Devi Temple, Daksha Mahadev Temple, etc. Although there are hundred of bathing ghats in Haridwar, but the most famous among them are Hari-ki-Pairi, Gangadwara, Kankhal, Nila Parvata, Bilwa Theertha and Kusavarta.
