
Neil Island is another most important tourism destinations of the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is located at the distance of 40 km north-east of Port Blair. The island is becoming popular for its pristine beaches, laid back ambiance and great snorkelling. The government of India and private travel agencies are promoting eco tourism here. Neill with its dazzling beaches is quite popular among the foreigners.
As compared to Havelock island, Neill is comparatively very small. It boosts of three beaches, all them them are within the easy cycling distance from each other. It is mostly inhabited by the Bengali settlers since 1950's. There are around 4000 settlers, who are involved in fishing and agriculture. While being at he island you can involve in nature walk or even indulge in some of the water sports.

Neill Kendra :
Neill Kendra is considered as the best place for swimming. The captivating bay of white sands and picturesque beaches make it a must visit destination among the tourists.
Lakshmangar :
If you are looking for a place where you can spend time in peace and isolation, than Lakshmannagar is the best choice. Lakshmangar, lies 2-km north of Neill Island, he beach is a broad spur of white shell sand with shallow water offering good Snorkelling.
Sitapur Beach :
Exposed to the open sea and thus prone to higher tides, Sitapur beach, 6-km south at the tip of the island, is also appealing and has a advantage of a sandy bottom extending into the sea.
