Kerala Travel

Rich are the offerings of this southern state of India – culture, nature, backwaters, beaches, hill stations, waterfalls, cuisines and much more.....

Kerala - referred to as the 'God's Own Country' is a leaf shaped patch on the map of India. The state is bounded by Western Ghats on it higher side, flanked by Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean along its other length.

Kovalam Dream :- The beautiful town of Kovalam came into spotlight, when its pristine and isolated beaches were discovered. Today Kovalam has become one of the favorite hangout destination welcoming thousand of tourists to soak in this tropical paradise – listening to the soothing music of its coming waves, sea breeze rippling your hair, watching the fishing boats fading in the horizon is something worth experiencing.

The most popular and hence the most sought after destination in Kovalam is the Lighthouse Beach. Although the tourists are not allowed to go inside the Lighthouse; but the memorials of Ayyanappilla Asan and Ayyippilla Asan around the beach are open to tourists. On the other side of the city, the popular Western Ghats provide enthralling series of picnic spots.

Visit to Kochi – Queen of Arabian Sea :- Kochi popularly known as the commercial center of Kerala, boosts of the finest natural harbors in the country. It is one of the Kerala's most frequently visited tourists destination , spreading across the islands and promontories in the beautiful location between the backwaters and the Arabian Sea. Some of the major attrcation on Cochin includes Mattancherry, Fort Cochin and Ernakulam.

Sailing the Backwaters : - The one experience you must not miss on the tour to Kerala is a tour on traditional houseboats called Kettuvallam. Developed during the time when railways were not constructed and the roads were actually expensive to travel, they were used for the purpose of transportation- for trading in particular, in these parts. Meandering through the Alappuzha backwaters to the Vembanad Lake all the way to Kochi in your houseboat is definitely a lifetime experience. Most houseboats today include a chef to pamper you with the traditional cuisine of Kerala.

Vallam Kali (Snake Boat Race) :- Come July or August and watch the enticing snake boats flag off for the much awaited Vallam Kali from Alleppey Backwaters. These dark, long graceful boats are seen to sit loaded with copra, coconut fiber or cashew, on coconut island....but now they line up in full caparisoned glory to compete for the most wanted Nehru Trophy.

Wildlife of Kerala :- The Eravikulam National Park and Silent Valley forms one of the richest biospheres in India and is home to some of the highly endangered species. Other most popular national parks in the country include – Periyar, Peppara, Parambikulam, Neyyar and Wayanad.

Kerala Tour Package and Hotel Booking



Duration : 6 nights - 7 days
Destination Covered : Cochin – Alleppey – Kumarakom – Periyar – Kovalam – Trivandrum

Day 1 : Arrive Cochin

The tour begins as you arrive at Cochin on the 1st day of the tour. You will be received by our representative at the airport, who will assist you and transfer you to the hotel for check in. Arriving at Cochin in the morning will give you enough time to explore the places of interest in the region. We begin our excursion trip with Mattancherry Palce also known as the Dutch Palace . We check out the interiors of the palace that are decorated with the mural's from Ramayana and there are some lively displays of royal costumes and palanquins. Than we will proceed to the St. Francis Church built by the Portuguese in 1510 AD and is believed to be the oldest church built by the Europeans in India. After that we check out the Bolghatty Palace and Jewish Synagogue. In the evening we move back to the spice market and soon after that return back to the hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 2 : Cochin – Alleppey


On the 2nd day of the tour we drive to Alleppey , also known as Alappuzha. It is most famous for its boat races, house boats, coir products, fish and lakes. We get the opportunity to enchant with the fishermen in the area. Than will also venture into the lush paddy fields and will enjoy the natural beauty of the sea and the hills. Today we will take the boat cruise and stroll back into the town past the canals covered with mauve hyacinths. Overnight at the houseboat.

Day 3 : Kumarakom
Next day in the morning after breakfast we disembark the houseboat in Kumarakom, that transports you to sheer ecstasy. It is an incredible experience to cruise in the backwaters around Kumarakom, set amidst the remote villages. Today we will be engaged in lot of adventure activities such as boating, fishing and birding. We will also take the sightseeing experiences that are truly exhilarating. Later in the day we make a visit to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary that is home to cormorants, teals, darters (snake birds), night herons, egrets, Siberian storks many other species of ducks. You may also spot here golden backed woodpecker, crow pheasant, white-breasted water hen, tree pie etc. After that our representative assists you to the hotel in Kumarakom.

Day 4 : Kumarakom – Periyar

Exploration of wilderness widens on the 4th day of the tour on your visit to the Periyar national Park. Watching the rare and endangered species of the animals such as Asian elephants, barking deer, gaur, sambar, wild dogs and strolling in their herds, provides you the most enchanting experience of the lifetime. Apart from exploring the different species of plants and animals we will also we will also enjoy wildlife photography. In the later half of the day we will be dcruising through the waters of Periyar lake around which we will enjoy the beautiful natural vistas. The overnight stay will be at the forest rest house where we will have choice of staying in the tents.

Day 5 : Periyar – Kovalam

Next morning we wake up at the call of the wilds in the jungle. After breakfast we will leave for the wildlife viewing of the sanctuary on the back of the elephant. After two hours of wildlife viewing we will get back to the tent and pack our bags to leave for Kovalam, located south of Tivandrum. There are two main beaches at Kovalam, separated by a high cliff. It is finding a new significance in the light of several Ayurvedic salons, & recuperation & regeneration resorts which provide a slew of Ayurvedic. Overnight at the hotel in Kovalam .

Day 6 : Kovalam

Today we will get up late in the morning. After breakfast we will take the small sightseeing tour, covering the main attractions of Kovalam. Later on we will indulge ourself in the water sports and Ayurvedic salons. Overnight stay at the hotel in Kovalam.

Day 7 : Kovalam – Trivandrum Airport


Today is the last day of the tour. Before leaving the city, today we take an excursion trip to Trivandrum, an ancient city with trading traditions dating back to 1000 BC. It was a trading post for spices like the rest of ancient Kerala. Here we visit the Padmanabha Swami Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu is held sacred by the Hindus from antiquity. The temple has a large complex with a huge Gopuram. It has a tank beside it for ritual bathing. Next we visit It is situated north of the city, at Museum road & 400m east of Indian airlines. It displays an eclectic assortment of historical & contemporary ornaments, temple carts, ivory carvings & life-size figures of Kathakali dances in full costume. It has a famous collection of 8th-18th century south Indian bronze. Sri Chittira Art Gallery, an excellent collection of Indian art with examples from early to modern schools. Paintings by Raja Ravi Varma & works from Mughal & Rajput miniature paintings & Tanjore paintings embellished with semi- precious stones are displayed. Evening we take a flight to onward destination.
