Finally, someone has chosen to wear my favourite Elie Saab gown on the red carpet. 30-year-old actress Jessica Chastain put on this dreamy dress at the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of her new movie, 'Wild Salome'. I fell in love with this dress the second I saw it presented at Elie Saab's Fall Haute Couture 2011-12 show on Fashion TV.

 The ethereal nude evening gown is exquisitely crafted in gauzy lace which is adorned with shimmering beadwork. It has cap sleeves, a low back and full skirt trimmed with embroidered lace. Jessica wore her red hair in a twisted upstyle and kept her make up simple. She sparkled with a diamond bracelet and earrings.

Jessica is the perfect candidate to wear this dress. It is a difficult colour to pull off, but she so beautifully. She drifts across the red carpet with grace and elegance.

Moscow was bedazzled by Mila Kunis yesterday, who was there to attend the premiere of her new movie, 'Friends with Benefits'. The actress looked stunning in a dress from Elie Saab's Fall 2011 Couture Collection.

Mila wore an ivory knee-length tulle dress with sheer illusion bodice, which sparkled with sequins and Swarovski crystals. The shoulders were beautifully adorned with beadwork. Mila also wore the same Elie Saab heels as shown on the runway. I love the entire look, especially that she styled this fairy like dress with a tiara Alice band.

Stylish socialite Olivia Palermo wore this exquisite Issa dress for Qatar based magazine, Haute Muse.

The luxurious silk jersey gown is striking in a rich violet shade. It has pleated panels that create a beautiful flowing effect and is made from 100% silk. The dress by UK-Brazilian label Issa is available for $885 or R6220 from Net-a-porter.com



Olivia wears rust coloured platforms by Charlotte Olympia. The Italian-made leather and satin court shoe retails for £546 (which is about R6185), on charlotteolympia.com 

Who Wore Marchesa Better?

This gorgeous bright pink Marchesa dress was worn by three different celebrities over the past year. The suede fuchsia frock features pretty paisley appliqués and an open back, which is followed by ruffled tiers. It is from Marchesa's Fall 2010 RTW Collection.

The first to wear it was Demi Moore, back in April 2010. The backless design is really show stopping. Demi paired the dress with shiny silver Brian Atwood courts and an embellished Roger Vivier clutch.



Blake Lively aka Serena van der Woodsen was styled in the same dress on the set of Gossip Girl for the 'Petty in Pink' episode. I'm glad she wore her hair in a high ponytail with it.



Finally, Marchesa co-founder, Georgina Chapman wore her own creation last month, with suede ivory lace-up heels by Christian Louboutin.



The dress was originally photographed on Canadian model Addison Gill (far right). I don't like the chunky navy heels with such a girly dress.



Personally, I adore this dress, and not only for the outstanding colour. It's stunning from the front, and when see it from the back, it's even better. No wonder it made a trio of stylish star appearances.

You have to believe me when I say I am not a fan of the High School Musical crew. However, I found myself drawn to this frilly frock that Ashley Tisdale wore to the premiere of her new movie. The white 'Talisa' dress is by Indonesian couture designer Farah Angsana. The bodice with embellished shoulder detail is Grecian-inspired, while the skirt has romantic tiered ruffles. Ashley paired the dress with a Swarovski clutch bag and glossy silver pumps by Brian Atwood. The runway model wears it with chunky gladiator heels. Being such a girly dress, I would have liked to see it with daintier heels.

I haven't yet tired of Grecian-style evening gowns. This dress is just one more reason why. Gossip Girl's Michelle Trachtenberg is a vision of grace and elegance at the 2011 School of American Ballet Winter Ball. The icy gray silk chiffon gown with embroidered bodice is by Marchesa. She wears it with an ornate clutch bag, also by Marchesa. The sweet side ponytail suits this simplistic look.

You may recall a post I did last month on the Elie Saab Spring/Summer 2011 Couture Collection. This resplendent red sheer chiffon and lace gown with grosgrain belt is from that collection. Halle Berry wore it this week to the Annual Costume Designer's Guild Awards in Beverly Hills. She accessorized with it with diamond earrings and bracelet from Indian jewellers Amrapali.

This dress translates beautifully from the runway to the red carpet. The raspberry red is an outstanding colour on any skin tone. I actually like it more on Halle. Which do you prefer?

British TV Presenter Jameela Jamil wears the printed dress trend beautifully on the red carpet. At the Elle Style Awards (left), she wore a flirty printed Hussein Chalayan dress with nude tie-up heels and bag by Alexander McQueen. At the Bafta Awards (right) she wears this gorgeous red and black printed gown by Dolce and Gabbana. I love this dress, but I'm not so keen on the lip-shaped clutch bag.

This look is certainly not for everyone, but Swedish actress Noomi Rapace shines in this exquisitely detailed dress by Givenchy. The metallic gown from Givenchy's Fall 2010 Couture Collection is completely covered by ornate gold sequins and crystals. Noomi wore this art piece at Sunday's Bafta Awards. The intricately beaded gown was enhanced by a gold spiked belt and Givenchy heels. It may be glitzy but it's definitely a show-stopper.

I am Loving this gorgeous gown actress Camilla Belle, pictured left, wore to the 2010 Latin Grammy Awards. It was shown off as part of the Carolina Herrera Spring 2011 Collection, by Ukrainian model Alina Baikova, right. The dress has a hibiscus silk bodice with a Japanese style green belt and floral impressionist skirt. The mermaid silhouette & vibrant colours make this dress an outstanding one.
