Veteran strikes 5 people waiting for Memorial Day parade
WEST CHESTER, Ohio (AP) - Police in Ohio say a car driven by a World War II veteran went off the road and struck five people creased up for a Memorial Day parade.
Authorities say 84-year-old Everett Cole's vehicle rolled above and hit a tree in front of a house in West Chester, about 15 miles north of Cincinnati.
Cole was aware and talked with emergency personnel as they extracted him from the car. There was no instant word on the extent of any injuries to him or others.
Police say three of the five wounded were taken to hospitals. One of the people struck was known as a Korean War veteran.
Cole had been allotted to drive a car in the parade Monday morning. The accident postponed the parade's start by 30 minutes.

Modnation Racers, driving, Dr Who and Cannonball Run
The day started out with more Modnation Racers. Toni and I took time out to go to Asda and George to get a few things.
Toni disappeared for a while as she had agreed to take Marie out for some driving practice.
Dinner and Dr Who then led on to the great news that Toni had decided to stay tonight rather than go back to Eltham.
We then settled down to watch the wonderful Cannonball Run before heading to bed.

Foi entregue recentemente aos seus novos proprietários o novo navio da Seabourn, o Seabourn Sojourn. Ele é o segundo gêmeo do Seabourn Odyssey, também faz parte desta classe o Seabourn Quest que será entregue em 2011. Cada um deles pode acomodar até 450 hóspedes e 335 tripulantes em suas 35.000 toneladas. O Seabourn Odyssey tem estréia prevista no Brasil para a temporada 2010/2011. Já o Seabourn Sojourn fará algumas viagens pela América do Sul em 2001/2012, mas não tem escalas previstas no Brasil. Today, May 31, is the 23rd "World No Tobacco Day". At least today, you and I should work together to allow the good wish "World No Tobacco" come to reality to an utmost degree.The ‘World No Tobacco Day’ every year has a specific theme. For example in 2009 it was "Refuse Second-Hand Smoke, Let your Lung Breathe freely", and this year the theme is "Gender and Tobacco: Concern Promotion Behaviors to Women"
Obviously, this year the theme of ‘World No Tobacco Day’ is against to tobacconists directly. As the market aimed to male smokers has no more space to dig – the number of male smokers in many countries and regions is continued to decrease –so tobacco companies around the world switch their expect for a huge profits to women.
In low and middle income countries, including developing countries like China, the tobacco industry begin to infiltrate through female market via various channels, they work hard to play up the benefits of smoking to women. Dr. Betcher, Director of WHO Tobacco Free Initiative, said at the news conference held at United Nations Office at Geneva on 28, May, said: "Tobacco companies are investing heavily in marketing to attract women, especially in middle income countries. They induce women believe that smoking is a symbol of beauty and liberation. Under the influence of this market strategy more and more young girls start smoking. "
Currently, 40% of men around the world smoke, while women smokers only accounted for 9% of the entire female population. Therefore, to promote more and more women to become smokers, become a big business in the eyes of tobacco companies. However, there is an unethical matter lies in this practice: compared to men, women are more susceptible to harms of tobaccos.
Among the 1 billion smokers on the earth, women smokers only account for 20%. However, among the 500 millions people who died from smoking every year, there are 150 millions are women, accounting for 30%. That is to say that among 800 million male smokers, there were 350 million lost their lives due to smoking every year, the ratio accounting for 0.44%; while the death rate of women smokers is as high as 0.75%, which is almost double the male.
Now the WHO is appealing to worldwide governments to prohibit all tobacco adverting, promotion and sponsorship activities, and take actions to protect women's lives and health from threat of tobacco. Aside from the resistance to tobacco advertising, promotion and activities, we should take actions from ourselves, exhort women close to ourselves away for smoking or persuade women smokers give up smoking as soon as possible.

After breakfast we pootled off to Chelmsford to pick up an additional PS3 controller so we could 4-way split screen games. Had a result as I managed to get a second hand one for £9.99 instead of £24.99 thanks to Sam's Game reward card.
We then spent most of day playing Modnation Racers taking a brief time out to catch up with some episodes of Vampire Diaries and Caprica.
Toni's fabulous roast dinner was accompanied by Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant.
We then stayed up until the wee small hours listening to all manner of weird and wonderful tunes.

UFC 114: Rampage Jackson vs Rashad Evans video and results
UFC 114 ended with something of a surprising upset last night, as Rashad Evans controlled much of his bout with Rampage Jackson before taking a unanimous decision.
The two had been rumored to do battle for some time, dating back as far as UFC 107, when the initial duel was set to take place. But Jackson withdrew because of his work on the A-Team movie, prompting an angry response from UFC President Dana White and frustration from Evans.
But Evans got his revenge last night, completely obliterating Jackson for the first two rounds. Jackson, to his credit, stormed back in the final round, turning in what Matt Murai of AmericanSuperstarMag.com called a "third-round onslaught," but when the final bell tolled Evans was the victor by scores of 30-27, 29-28 and 30-27.
The fighters weighed in at just one pound apart and both have championship pedigrees with the UFC, but Jackson was considered the favorite and entered with plenty of momentum. An Evans victory wasn't necessarily a shock, but to see him own Jackson so thoroughly through the first two rounds was something of a surprise.

Rashad is crouching low, using lots of movement to try and keep from giving Rampage a target. They quickly clinch and Rashad again presses Rampage to the fence. They separate and move back to the middle of the Octagon, Rashad again using some rather unorthodox movement to keep Rampage off his game before charging and pressing Rampage to the fence once again. Herb Dean separates them again. Rashad again moves in, landing a short right to the body, before pressing Rampage into the cage again. Rashad goes for the single leg, but Rampage defends. Rashad presses him against the fence and lands a couple short punches as the round ends.
Round 3
Rashad shoots, doesn’t get it, and Rampage lands a hard right. They move back to the center of the cage, each looking for an opening. Rampage moves in and drops Rashad with an uppercut, follows him down and unloads a few punches, but Rashad survives, as the crowd roars for Rampage. Rashad is on his back, Rampage working from half guard, trying to find an opening as the crowd’s chants are thunderous for Rampage. Rashad somehow manages to get back to his feet and starts dancing away from Rampage, recovering his faculties. There’s half a round left in the fight. Rashad shoots and takes Rampage down, putting him on his back, and starts working from half guard himself. He unloads right hands on Rampage, who is trying to tie Rashad up to defend. Rashad presses his weight on Rampage, who is now trying to control Rashad’s right hand. Rashad moves around behind Rampage, unloads a few more shots before Rampage regains his feet. Rashad again takes him down and starts landing punches to the head. Rampage though regains his feet at the end of the round and the crowd erupts at the final bell.

Rashad keeps constant pressure on Rampage, whose back is to the fence, but they are separated once again. Rampage lands a couple punches just before the bell sounds.
Round 2
Rashad is crouching low, using lots of movement to try and keep from giving Rampage a target. They quickly clinch and Rashad again presses Rampage to the fence. They separate and move back to the middle of the Octagon, Rashad again using some rather unorthodox movement to keep Rampage off his game before charging and pressing Rampage to the fence once again. Herb Dean separates them again. Rashad again moves in, landing a short right to the body, before pressing Rampage into the cage again. Rashad goes for the single leg, but Rampage defends. Rashad presses him against the fence and lands a couple short punches as the round ends.
Round 3
Rashad shoots, doesn’t get it, and Rampage lands a hard right. They move back to the center of the cage, each looking for an opening. Rampage moves in and drops Rashad with an uppercut, follows him down and unloads a few punches, but Rashad survives, as the crowd roars for Rampage. Rashad is on his back, Rampage working from half guard, trying to find an opening as the crowd’s chants are thunderous for Rampage. Rashad somehow manages to get back to his feet and starts dancing away from Rampage, recovering his faculties. There’s half a round left in the fight. Rashad shoots and takes Rampage down, putting him on his back, and starts working from half guard himself. He unloads right hands on Rampage, who is trying to tie Rashad up to defend. Rashad presses his weight on Rampage, who is now trying to control Rashad’s right hand. Rashad moves around behind Rampage, unloads a few more shots before Rampage regains his feet. Rashad again takes him down and starts landing punches to the head. Rampage though regains his feet at the end of the round and the crowd erupts at the final bell.

LAS VEGAS: British middleweight star Michael Bisping was sharp, disciplined, and in fine form in his UFC 114 co-main event bout with Dan Miller Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, using a pinpoint striking attack to score a three round unanimous decision victory over the ultra-tough New Jersey native.
“The gameplan was to do what I did but to finish the fight,” said Bisping. “He’s tough. I hit him with some big right hands and he took them.”
Scores were 30-27 twice and 29-28 for Bisping, who was coming off a close decision loss to Wanderlei Silva in February.
After an intense forehead to forehead staredown that prompted a pre-fight push from Miller, the two fighters met at the center of the Octagon at the bell and got down to business, poking at each other with range-finding strikes. Bisping was the busier of the two, and he found a home for his strikes, but the more economical Miller was able to land as well. By the end of the round, Bisping had bloodied Miller’s nose and reddened his face, while the Brit went back to his corner unmarked.

Evans tried to garner public support by playing the nice guy in front of the crowd. "I’m just trying to stay relaxed. There’s definitely a lot of anticipation for this fight but at the end of the day, it’s just another fight to me," said Evans.
Jackson, who will face Evans, however, wasn't so gracious. "He’s dead. I’ve been waiting a long time for this fight. I’m back in the UFC and it’s time for me to crush some skulls. He’s dead," said Jackson.
Jackson added that he hates Evans a lot. "Never in my life. I’ve never trained so hard so I could shut his big mouth. A guy with a glass jaw shouldn’t talk so much," Jackson responded.

Rashad Evans capitalized when Rampage Jackson was against the fence, clinching him and risking that the act upon would pay off afterward due to his stipulating.
Despite blending in from 251 lbs to 205 lbs in 8 weeks, Jackson never blew over, but Rampage timing was off on his strikes, and he later acknowledged it was probably due to being rusty after the 14-month layoff.
Rampage did bring in one late charge in the 3rd though, cutting down Rashad with an uppercut against the fence. Rampage tried desperately to finish his lost opponent, but Rashad recovered and ruled out the round strong with 2 takedowns and strong groundwork of his own.
“I’m very surprised he recovered from that,” Jackson said afterward. “I put all my eggs in that basket and it didn’t work. I guess ring rust is a factor.”

Fans seemed like they were on his side though, and even booed Evans when he walked into the ring to get the fight started.
These two have some bad blood between them, so it was likely a hard loss for Jackson. The fight was unanimous, with Evans winning 30-27 29-28 30-27. This fight was one of the biggest non-title fights for the UFC, and we doubt either of these two expected to walk away with a loss without a big fight.

He played Shakespeare at the old Globe Theater after they moved to San Diego with his family.
While in his late teens he jumped to Warner Bros. where he made “Giant” and “Rebel without a Cause” after he insulted his boss Harry Cohn from Columbia.
After then, he went to New york to study at the Actors Studio where he had learned his skills.
Hopper married to Brooke Hayward, who is the daughter of agent Leland Hayward (author of best-selling memoir “haywire”) and actress Margaret Sullava. They had a daughter, Marin, before they led to divorce after eight year of marriage bacauce of drug-induced violence.
His second wife was the singer-actress Michelle Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas,lasted only eight days.
His third marriage was with actress Daria Halprin, and had a daughter Ruthana but also ended in divorce

McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton wins Turkish Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton led a McLaren victory after an extraordinary clash between Red Bull’s Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel at the Turkish Grand Prix today. Team-mate Jenson Button came in second place.
The clash happened on the 40th lap when Vettel flew off the track after colliding with team-mate Webber in an attempt to take the lead from him.
On lap 50, Hamilton’s team-mate Jenson Button surged ahead and they were actually neck-to-neck at some point of the race, Button taking the lead for a few turns.
Webber finished third while Mercedes’ Michael Schumacher came in fourth.
This is Lewis Hamilton’s 12th victory in his Formula 1 career.
