Got up at a not too unreasonable hour today (having gone to bed just before 2 rather than 5 this time)
Had a coffee with Toni and Emma and watched some Star Trek: TNG. When Dren finally surfaced we had bacon butties and watched The Time Machine (remake version).
Next stop was The Polite Vicar for some lovely BBQ ribs and then we popped back to Dren and Emma's for a tea and some cake (and watched some classic Not The Nine O'Clock News) before packing the car up ready for the journey back.
Unlike our trip up we made it back to SWF in 4 hours and that included us stopping for nearly 1 hour at Cambridge services. Once we had returned we had a cuppa and stuck the washing on before hitting the sack for some much needed sleep.
It was a fantastic weekend and a much welcome break.

Drink, more drink, and lil bit of eating (and some shopping)!
After the excitement of Mow Cop Castle and the Old Man Of Mow Cop we went to Hanley to do some shopping.
Had a good old mooch around Forbidden Planet (and amazingly didn't spend anything), Toni and I bought some funky shoelaces in an alternative shop and then we picked up some books and knickers (not in the same shop!) before hitting Tesco for more alcohol.
When we returned home we all dressed up to commence drinking and have food.
Yummy food!

Mutated demon pepper!

In various states of alocoholness!

Sightseeing, Mow Cop Castle & the Old Man
After a lovely breakfast of bacon sandwiches, Dren drove us all to Mow Cop, near Harriseahead to see the castle. We stopped for petrol and this sign really made me laugh, talk about pushing your healthy living!

Emma bought some "juice filled" sweets and there was much fun to be had (especially if you want to behave like a teenager)!

It was bit misty at the castle but we went for a stroll around anyway. My first question though, is what the feck is a cliffedge?

And here it is:

And this is what you get when you refer to the two ladies in your party as "lame bitches" cos they won't walk across the mud and puddles and stones:

Once we had seen the castle we took a hairy ride around a dodgy track and found the Old Man Of Mow Cop. This stone pillar came to be known as the Old Man of Mow because of it's resemblance to an old man.:
