Weird start, cars, pizzas and scissors

Today started a bit awkward. The atmosphere from last night continued today. Toni is not dealing well with all the stuff going on in her life at the moment and was a bit of a mess this morning. She was really tearful and I found that very hard to deal with as I was going through a load of Sharon related things too.

Things did get better as the day went on thankfully. Sam wanted to try and get a refund on his remote control car as it had already been through 2 starter mechanisms in 3 weeks. We popped over to Sophie's to get the car and then drove to Broomfield to Hobbycraft to try and get the refund. When we opened the box the car hadn't been cleaned quite as well as Sophie had said and so the guy said that he wouldn't give a refund but would at least repair the starter free of charge. Sam got the hump and decided that he wanted to sell the car anyway. A buyer wasn't far away though as Shane said he would be buy it which pleased Sam.

As we had to wait for the repair to be done we went back into Chelmsford so that Toni could get Gemima a new stylus for her DS. Sam and I took advantage of our trip to Game to puck up a few more PS3 games. By this point we were all feeling pretty hungry. First of all we looked at La Tosca (a tapas bar) but decided, in the interests of keeping costs low, to go to Wetherspoons. We found a table and then after waiting for ages in the queue were told that they didn't have key ingredients for 3 of the 4 meals that we wanted and that there was no alternative and no discount. At this point we decided to head for old faithful, Pizza Hut! Had a lovely meal (if a bit rushed) and then shot out the door (with a quick hello to Vikki and Stu who were just arriving) to get back to Hobbycraft as we only had 15 minutes until they closed. We made it was a couple of minutes to spare. The guys had added a new starter to the car and then repaired one of the broken ones with some stronger materials. We went back via Sophie's to drop the car off to Shane.

We then had a chance to relax watching Edward Scissorhands whilst drinking tea and eating nibbles. After Gemima had gone to bed we watched Cloverfield. Actually it was just Sam and I that really watched it, Toni sort of held on tight to me pretended not to be scared!

Unfortunately we didn't manage to make it to Evolution for Katie's birthday party which was a shame.
