Himalaya MountainsThe Himalaya constitute the largest mountain range of the world. The Himalya shelters some fo the highest peaks of the world like Mount Everest, K2, Kanchenjunga, Nanga Parvat, Dhaula Giri and Annapurna. Stretching across 6 countries: Bhutan, China, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Himalaya, the abode of snow, is origin of three major river system of the world, Indus basin, Ganga-Brahmaputra basin and Yangtze river basin. Housing hundreds of highly revered Hindu pilgrimage, the Himalaya, along with, offers tremendous scope for many Eco adventurous activities like Trekking, Mountaineering, River Rafting, Nature Walk, Mountain Biking and Camping.
Many of world famous wildlife sanctuaries and national parks like Corbett National Park, Kaziranga National Park, Namdhpha National Park and the Great Himalyan National Park lie in the Himalayan range of mountains. All these parks along with several others give the best possible home to wild animals like Tigers, Elephants, Rhinoceros and Bears.
Western Ghats
Covering the distance approx 1600 Km, Western Ghats spread in states like Maharastra, Goa, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamilnadu. The most precious possession which Western Ghats conceal in itself is its large dense forests. Having a very diverse range of species of endemic flora and fauna, Western Ghats contribute greatly in preservation of regulated Eco system.
The whole Western Ghats are one of the favoured destination for viewing hundreds of species of Birds, Butterflies, Tigers, Asian Elephants, Gaurs and other several wild animals. Some of the most popular national parks like Bandipur National Park, Nagarhole National Park and Mudumalai National Park lie in Western Ghats. Besides, the pleasant climate, mountain’s sloping and rich greenery – All together forms the best way to produce large quantity of cash crops (spices) like Coffee, Cardamom, Tea, Pepper and Cocoa.
Eastern Ghats
Eastern Ghats Eastern Ghats starts at West Bengal and pass through states like Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu. Many of hills like Sirumalai and Karanthamalai (Southern Tamil Nadu), Kollimalai (North of Kaveri), Shevaroy and Kalrayan hills (Northern Tamilnadu). Higher range of hills are home to Coffee plantation. Bilgiri hills that connect Eastern and Western Ghats have the second largest population of wild Elephants.
Eastern Ghats are ripped through by rivers like Godawari, Mahanadi, Krishna and Kaveri, the four major rivers of South India. This Ghat is said to be the watershed of many rivers as it gets higher average waterfall. Due to higher rainfall, the fertile land results into better crops.
Nilgiri Hills
Literally meaning as Blue Mountains, Nilgiri hills pass across the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Being a part of the Western Ghats, Nilgiri hills have very pleasant ambience. The highest point of Nilgiri is Doddabetta, one of the popular tourist destination, is at 2623 meters.
The cordial climate of Nilgiri hills help producing world class flavoured Tea leaf.
