Parasailing in India

Billowing up in the blue unknown has been a fascinating figment for long. It is great experience for you to wallow over hills and valleys and rising slowly, silently with thermals like the birds and para sailing makes it possible. Para sailing is carried with much vivacity and gusto in India. This recreational activity involves a person towed behind a vehicle (usually a boat) while attached to a parachute. Whether it is the laminar sea breezes of Goa, to the more thermal flying conditions of the Western Ghats or whether it is the tiny bumps in the grounds, to the table top land at Panchgani or the peaks in the Himalayas, they are all here in one country - India. Except during the monsoons Para sailing can be enjoyed through out the year.

Kangra valley is the at the centre of gliding activities in Himachal Pradesh. Bir and Billing in Kangra are considered extremely happening place for enjoying para sailing. Bijli Mahadev is an excellent site for hill launching and has ideal conditions for thermal soaring. Garhwal makes para sailors' paradise, with the Great Himalayas in North and the plains of Terai region in the south. The unique topography makes Garhwal an excellent destination for both experienced and beginner para gliders. Some ideal sailing sites include Naukutchiyatal in Nainital, Dayara Bugyal, Pratap Nagar, Dhanolti Ridge in Garhwal and Bedni Bugyal in Kumaon.


The open countryside of Rajasthan also offers gliding opportunities that can prove remarkable. These include Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bikaner and Kota. Parasailing in Maharashtra is almost entirely on the Western Ghat hill range, which run in an almost unbroken line from Gujarat in the north, to the Nilgiri Hills on the southern tip of India. Popular para sailing areas, include the hill stations and fort sights of Maharashtra: Matheran, Deolali, Mahabaleshwar, Singhgad and Panchgani. Bogmalo beach park plaza resort, Hydro sports, Fort Aguada beach resort and Goan Banana's water sports provide para sailing in Goa.

Make your para sailing experience more contended and complete with life jackets, quick releases, helmets, wind meters, wind socks, feather flags, launch bar system, harness and double triple bar. You need to be physically fit and mentally strong to be alert and avoid hurdles for performing this sport but do not make several stunts while performing it. You para sail with a fully licensed company operating from a well-established location, insured by a licensed insurance company. Avoid para sailing in rain, fog and in close proximity to the shoreline, other boats and/or objects.
