We've been following flickr's eilonwy77 and her pattern wips for a few days now, and some of her latest are... hm. Satisfying? Beautiful? We'll give them the highest compliment the community has to offer: they don't look like legos. These are a powerful argument for shelving the minifigs for a while and just experimenting with shapes and design.
Meanwhile The Reverend has also been working on patterns, using only headlight bricks. Check out his photostream, there's a lot more in there.
