Toyota to Celebrate a Decade of Prius Models;

2010 is the ten year anniversary of the Toyota Prius model in the United States. Volkswagen is also looking to release a hybrid model or two of the next few years that will be sold at Volkswagen AZ dealers among other dealers. Over the past ten years, the hybrid model has greatly improved in its design and it currently is the top selling hybrid model in the United States and the rest of the world. Also, GM's Chevy Volt model will be coming out soon and parts for the Volt among other Chevy models can be purchased from Florida Chevrolet Parts dealers.

Ford has recently released its own Ford Fusion Hybrid that is a direct competitor to the Prius and can be found at many New York Ford Dealers. Toyota was far ahead of the pack ten years ago when it released the first Prius hybrid, but the first generation model was not nearly as fuel efficient as the current model. Toyota has had 10 years to alter and improve the design and efficiency of the Prius hybrid while newer automakers will have to learn from trial and error as they release their own first hybrid models.

Toyota also recently announced that they would be releasing a RAV4 hybrid model that is based on the popular RAV4 SUV. The model would be designed in conjunction with the United States automaker Tesla and it is one of the most highly anticipated hybrid vehicle models to ever hit the market. The RAV4 was selected because its chassis and size is more suitable for the large battery that Tesla will provide for it.

Toyota is currently a major leader in hybrid vehicle production and the company will continue to improve on the Prius's engineering and features. Toyota is working on a new line of Prius models that feature full lithium ion batteries and will be released in 2012 in the United States.
