Hi everyone - today I thought I would share a little bit of my cooking knowledge and give out my own recipe for chicken cordon bleu! This is a wholesome meal that takes less than an hour and will last you at least a couple of days. Enjoy!
Things you'll need:
- 6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
- 6 slices Swiss cheese
- 6 slices ham
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
Directions
- Pound chicken breasts if they are too thick. Place cheese and ham slices to the side. Fold the edges of the chicken over the filling, and secure with toothpicks. Mix the wine and paprika in a small bowl, and coat the chicken in heavy whipping cream.
- Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat for approximately 5 minutes, add the chicken and cook until you hear it sizzle. Add the wine and paprika mixture. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Remove the toothpicks, and transfer the breasts to a warm platter. Blend the cornstarch with the flour in a small bowl, and whisk slowly. In a medium saucepan, cook the cornstarch and flour mixture over high heat until blackened, and pour over the chicken. Serve warm.
