Assam Travel


Mesmerizing Assam (ASOMA meaning peerless) dominated by the fertile Brahmaputra Valley, is agateway to the north-east India. Cities of Assam :-
Guwahati : - Located on the banks of River Brahmaputra, Guwahati is the largest city in north east india. Visit the legendary Kamakhaya temple, one of the 108 Shakti Peethas of Goddess Durga. The temple is dedicated to Ma Kamakhaya, the essence of female energy. It is actually a natural cave,inside which you will find Matra Yoni – sculpture of Yoni of the Goddess, covered with silk sarees and decorated with flowers. Another major attraction of the city is the Manas National Par, which is the only Tiger Reserve in Assam.

Dibrugarh :-Dibrugarh is the largest exporting tea center in India. The three most important tea producing districts in Dibrugarh are Tinsukia, Dibrugarh and Jorhat. Apart from Tea Gardens not tomiss is the wildlife tour to Namdapha National Park.

Dispur :- The capital city of Assam, Dispur is most famous for Auction market of tea. Major attractions of the city are Shankardev Kalakschetra and Basistha Ashram.

Silchar :- Located on the banks of river Silchar is the small, yet beautiful town called Silchar. The exotic view of sunrise in the beautiful natural environs is simple unparalleled. Rafting :- Mighty Brahmaputra (one of the four largest rivers in the world) provides you opportunity to raft in its water while discovering its immense beauty.

Wildlife Tour to Manas National Park :- Located on the foothills of the Himalayas, Manas National Park is a popular Tiger Reserve in Assam. On the tour to this wildlife sanctuary indulge yourself Tiger spotting, other than that there are buffalos, elephants, golden lanhur, wild dog, oater and civet. The park is also home to some of the rare and highly endangered species of Pygmy Hog and Hispid Hare. You may also kill some time watching different species of Birds such as Bulbuls, Jungle Fowls, Hornbills, Fishing Eagles, Scarlet Minivets, Bee eaters and many more.

Trekking :The North Cachar Hills and Karbi Hills are favorite destination for trekking and mountaineering in Assam. The 'Elephant Rocks' in Morigaon is also quite popular trekkers.
