Ashrams in India - Spiritual Retreat Centers


Ashrams in India take us into trance. These are such a place where you will feel rejuvenated or can feel a sense of oneness with God. Ashrams are the beginning of spiritual journey. There are many Gurus, Yoga Gurus or leaders in Ashram who can guide towards spiritualism. India is one of the best place in spiritualism.

There are quite a few Spiritual Retreat Centers in India and some has distinguished spiritual or yoga Gurus who can take us to the world of enlightenment. People all over the globe visit India for spiritual enlightenment and stay in the ashrams over here. The aim of all the Indian ashrams are same that is to make people spiritually awake and contribute to the social good. The are Ashrams in India which also provide emphasis on yaga and pranayam which give us a healthy life style.

Most famous Ashrams in India: Patanjali Yogpit: The founder and leader of this Ashram is Baba Ramdev ji. Here he emphasizes yoga and meditation. Patanjali is a huge ashram near Haridwar. People visit this ashram to get rid of the physical and mental illness through yoga.

Auroville International: Auroville International is in Auroville, near Pondecherry. The ashram of Rishi Aurovindo in Pondecherry is world famous but the Auroville International is a new one just 10 km from Pondecherry. It is an international community not called an ashram rather it is called a spiritual experiment based which does not believe on the abandonment of the world but on active engagement with matter.

Art of Living
: Headed by Shri Ravi Shankarji or Gurudev, the main ashram of Art of living is in Bangalore. The activities here involve hymns, chants and singing of Gurudeva, and music ultimately take you to the trance.

Osho Ashram: Chandra Mohan or Acharya Rajneesh popularly renowned by the name of Osho is Indian spiritual teacher who has gained immense international popularity and fame. Osho Ashram in Pune is a major attraction for the people who are keen interested in spiritual and psychological teachings preached by Bhagwan Rajneesh.

Yoga Ashrams in India: There are lot of Yoga ashrams in India among which Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram is renowned worldwide. All the Shivananda Ashrams are located in most pristine, quite and tranquil location, specially designed to study and practice Yoga and Meditation.
